Culture
Music, artists and creative tools.
Releasing music, developing artists and building tools for the creative process. YY starts here with barleyy, an open call for artists and collaborators and a planned sample organizer.
Explore CultureMusic, artists and creative tools are our starting point. The seven Horizons set out where we want YY to go—from interactive worlds and artificial intelligence to education, energy, life extension and space.
Culture is active today. The other Horizons describe our longer-term ambitions.

Explore CultureVirtual worlds and interactive experiences.
Games, virtual reality and installations that people can explore and influence. Taking music and stories beyond watching and listening, into experiences an audience can participate in.
Artificial intelligence that can learn and act.
AI for research, creative work and complex problem-solving. This includes yy Mind: the idea of an ongoing AI collaborator that remembers past work, learns from feedback and helps carry projects through.
Education and access to learning.
Making difficult subjects understandable through clear teaching, interactive explanations and tools for learning. The aim is to help more people understand science and technology well enough to use them—not just read about them.
Energy, including nuclear power.
Generating, storing and delivering the energy needed for homes, industry and new technologies. The long-term goal is abundant, reliable energy, with nuclear power as a particular area of interest.
Aging research and life extension.
Understanding aging and exploring ways to extend healthy human life. More years with the health and independence to live, learn and create—not simply more years alive.
Space exploration, planetary defense and terraforming.
Protecting Earth from asteroid threats, exploring the solar system and working toward life beyond Earth. The furthest ambition is terraforming: changing conditions on other worlds so they could support life.
We start with culture because we want people to care about the worlds we might build. Interactive experiences let them explore those worlds; AI and education help people understand and work on the ideas behind them. Energy, longer healthy lives and space exploration address the physical limits of how far those ambitions can go.
